With a plot set in a post-apocalyptic Oregon (US), Days Gone is about a journey to overcome amid the chaos, disorder and uncertainties of a world destroyed after the pandemic of a virus that makes humans extremely violent.
Ruins, killer zombies and lots of trash; this is the current reality in small towns surrounded by Oregon's famous forests. Hunting and collecting garbage to sell is what keeps Deacon alive in order to fulfill his only goal: to find his wife Sarah - who he believes is still alive.
But during his "laps", in addition to seeing the beauty of nature claiming the abandoned cities for himself, he also has to face the angry zombies and to deal with gangs he encounters along the way.
